The Lab Orders section in Appointment Details helps staff and practitioners quickly review laboratory order information linked to an appointment.
This section gives a quick summary of:

When to Use This Feature
Use this feature when you need to:
Confirm that a scheduled appointment includes lab order details.
Review order status and due date before the visit.
Open the patient Labs view from the appointment, when available.
Prerequisites
You have access to the organization calendar.
The appointment was scheduled with lab order details.
Lab order information is available for that appointment.
Note: You do not need to start an encounter to use this section.
Accessing the Feature
Open the organization calendar.
Click the appointment.
In Appointment Details, locate the Lab Orders section.

Sections and Fields
In Lab Orders, you may see:
Laboratory: Name of the lab.
Fallback:Unknown Laboratory.Status: Current order status.
Due date: Expected date shown for the order.
Practitioner: Requesting practitioner.
Fallback:Unknown Practitioner.Combos: Number of combo groups.
Tests: Number of standalone tests.
Open link: Opens related Labs details when available.

How to Review Lab Details from an Appointment
Open the calendar and select the appointment.
Confirm that Lab Orders is visible.
Review Laboratory, Status, Due date, Practitioner, Combos, and Tests.
If the row is clickable, open it to view related Labs details.
Expected result: You can review key lab details directly from appointment information.
How to Open Related Labs Details
In Lab Orders, check if the row is clickable.
Click the row or external link icon.
Review the order in the patient Labs area.
Expected result: The app opens the related Labs details for that patient.
Expected Results
Appointments with linked lab details show a Lab Orders section.
Users can review status and timing at a glance.
Labs navigation is available when an order reference is available.
Best Practices
Use Status and Due date together to prioritize follow-up.
If a label shows
Unknown, verify the source information.Use this view as a quick summary, then open Labs for full detail.
Troubleshooting
Lab Orders is not visible
Confirm the appointment was scheduled with lab order details.
Refresh the calendar and open the appointment again.
Wait a few minutes and retry if the appointment was just created.
Status or due date is missing
Reload the appointment details.
Verify the appointment has complete lab order information.
Laboratory or Practitioner shows "Unknown"
The source value may be missing.
Confirm those values in the related order details.
The row is not clickable
The quick summary can appear without a direct link.
Open the patient Labs section and search by patient/order details.

Q: Why do I see Lab Orders for some appointments but not others?
A: Only appointments with linked lab order details show this section.
Q: Does this replace the full Labs module?
A: No. This is a summary view. Use Labs for complete order workflows.
