The prescription creation originates within a patient record. In order to get started you will want to:
Navigate to a patient record. You can access your list of patients by clicking on "Patients" in your top navigation bar. From here you can scroll through your patients or type their name in the box to search by name.
Select the "Rx" application by clicking on the
icon.Click on the "Create Prescription" button.
Select the medication that you want to prescribe from the dropdown box under "Medication". You can either click on the "+" sign to see the whole list or you can type the medication name and the matching options will be shown.
You can click on the
icon to see the medication details.
Complete the "Sig" for the prescription.
You can either select from the suggested options for that medication
Type in your own sig instructions
Check the "Structured" checkbox and type the quantity, select the frequency, administration route, and select the corresponding duration (day / week / month / year).
You can add additional Sigs by clicking
under the Sig field.Select the Prescriber from the drop-down box under "Prescriber".
Select the Pharmacy from the drop-down box under "Pharmacy".
Type in the quantity you are prescribing
Define the number of refills for the prescription
Note: The pharmacy will not receive the refill quantity, these will be managed by the platform to ensure proper payment has been collected prior to passing the prescription along to the pharmacy.
Select the dispensing frequency
Please note: By default, "Autoship" is toggled on. If "Autoship" is selected, you can also adjust the frequency for recurring order.
Alternatively, to deactivate Autoship, click the toggle icon.
This will change the prescription status to “On Demand.”
When a prescription is set to On Demand, it must be manually requested by either the Practice or the Patient by selecting “Refill-On” next to the pharmaceutical item.
Select the shipping address from the available options or add a new shipping address by clicking on "
".After adding a custom address you can edit it by clicking on the
icon.
You can type in a note for the prescription under "Note".
Click the "Create Rx" button to save the prescription.
If you wish to add additional prescriptions to the order you can do so by clicking
and completing the prescription information as above.Finally click on the
button on the upper right or the
button on the lower right corner of your screen to complete the prescription order.
